Guitar With Zachary
My name is Zachary McGuirk, and I've been playing guitar for over four years now. I home schooled for four years as well and am now beginning Running Start. As a teacher, my goal is to instill a basic knowledge of the guitar to my students in order to prepare them for more advanced courses and lessons in the future. There are many different ways to approach teaching the guitar depending on what a student wants to learn from diving straight into songs and tabs to studying theory and classical notation. My teaching experience includes guitar instruction, Sunday school, VBS and I taught a cartoon drawing class at CHECK home school co-op to third through fifth graders. My plan in teaching is to use the first lesson to learn what it is the student wishes to play and choose the teaching style which best suits their desires. From there I offer beginner through intermediate lessons. Students will develop an understanding of the guitar, music theory, and how theory applies to their favorite songs and genres, hence allowing them to explore, improve, and experiment in writing music on their own.
Beginning June 1, 2009 I have openings for beginning students ages 8 and up. Lessons are taught in the convenience of your home(Kennewick/ Richland/ Pasco).
Cost: $15 per 30 minute lesson
